Started back in 1857 in New Brunswick, Canada, Briggs and Little is a family run company operating a fully integrated mill producing Canadian pure wool spun yarns. All Briggs and Little yarns are made in Canada from 100% domestic wool. They take the entire process from beginning to end, changing raw wool into wool spun yarns. This includes dying, spinning, blending, packaging and labelling all under one roof.
Briggs and Little have always had a special relationship with Newfoundland and Labrador, and many of our traditional knits have used Briggs and Little. To that end, Christine LeGrow and Shirley A. Scott have written the beautiful Saltwater Knits series, recreating and celebrating some of Newfoundland and Labrador's lively knitting patterns for socks, hats, and many other great gifts.
